With the closing of our first retail location my feelings were mixed. There was some sadness for sure, but also an overwhelming feeling of excitement. I was surrounded by an amazing group of Muslim women entrepreneurs, who not only shared my beliefs and love for what Kaamilah stood for, but had also grown to be dear friends and confidants. With this mutual love and respect for one another we set out planning the new face of Kaamilah.
The more we flushed out our vision, the more excited we got! As fun as having a full time location was, we realized there were so many Kaamilah clients we were not servicing well. The first step was to create a dynamic new website that reflected Kaamilah’s values. Not just a retail store, but a place that gave back to the community. Through blog posts, webinars, video tutorials and lot of freebies we hope to share with everyone, no matter where you are in the world, a bit of Kaamilah’s heart and spirit.
Kaamilah also played a big role over the years in providing small business owners a platform to sell their wares. This has always been a vital component of what we’re about and not something we wanted to loose. So, Kaamilah Caravan was born! It’s a pop-up style event where we, along with many other amazing Muslim women entrepreneurs, not only have an opportunity to sell their unique products but also run crafting workshops, seminars and live tutorials. It’s an opportunity to highlight the diverse talents of those in our community, our hidden gems. With the mobility of our caravan style platform, we hope to visit cities all over Canada and the U.S. insha’Allah!
KaamilahOnline.com is our home on the web, and we welcome you all to drop by, browse and stay awhile. We also have some big plans and exciting new brands joining our online store. It is a one stop shop for hundreds of unique Muslim products. Also as an added bonus to our local Toronto customers, we now offer free pick-up in both east and west ends of the city, in Markham and Mississauga!
As the doors of our full time shop close, a beautiful new door of connecting globally opens. May Allah help us purify our intentions and may whatever we do benefit His believers, bring hearts together and open our hearts and minds in love, compassion and understanding, Ameen.
